Alcohol and Drug Evaluations
In Illinois, anyone arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs (DUI) must undergo an alcohol and drug evaluation before sentencing can occur for the DUI offense, or restricted or full driving privileges can be granted by the Office of the Secretary of State.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR EVALUATION?
The evaluation’s purpose is to help determine the individual's extent and nature of drug and alcohol use. It is also an evaluation that provides a recommendation of treatment moving forward. The cost of an evaluation typically varies depending on the provider you choose. Individuals should expect to receive the classification one of the following:
- Minimal Risk
- Moderate Risk
- Significant Risk
- High Risk
